Browned Butter Olive Oil Blondies

Sophisticated dessert for special occasions, or a Tuesday evening at home!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Put butter in a small saucepan and cook on medium low. Let it melt, then cook longer, until the butter looks darker and smells nutty. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Toast the pecans, then coarsely chop.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix butter, olive oil, balsamic and eggs. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and pecans. Stir until well combined.
  5. Spread in a 9x13 pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Put milk, cocoa powder and butter in a saucepan and boil briefly. Remove from the heat and beat in the powdered sugar until smooth.
  7. Pour frosting over the warm bars. Allow bars to cool to room temperature before cutting.
