Sophisticated dessert for special occasions, or a Tuesday evening at home!
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Put butter in a small saucepan and cook on medium low. Let it melt, then cook longer, until the butter looks darker and smells nutty. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Toast the pecans, then coarsely chop.
- In a medium bowl, mix butter, olive oil, balsamic and eggs. Add flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and pecans. Stir until well combined.
- Spread in a 9x13 pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Put milk, cocoa powder and butter in a saucepan and boil briefly. Remove from the heat and beat in the powdered sugar until smooth.
- Pour frosting over the warm bars. Allow bars to cool to room temperature before cutting.
